How pricing works
An itemised quote, not a guess
Solar prices swing with panel and battery brands, the size of your inverter and how complex the roof and wiring are. So instead of a number that only fits a few buyers, we visit, measure your real load and send a quote that lists every panel, inverter, battery, cable and breaker with its price.
You can compare it line by line with any other quote you receive. If something is not needed, we take it out. If you would like a cheaper first phase and to add batteries later, we design for that too.
Questions
About packages and pricing
Why don't you list one fixed price for each package?
Because two homes with the same list of appliances can still need different systems. Roof space, how far the panels sit from the inverter, how many hours you run heavy loads and the brands you choose all move the price. We give you an itemised quote after a free survey so you pay for what your property needs, nothing extra.
Can I start small and add more panels or batteries later?
Usually yes, if the inverter is chosen with room to grow. Tell us your plans at the start and we will size the inverter and wiring so you can add batteries or panels later without replacing the core system.
What runs my house at night?
The lithium battery. Panels charge it during the day while also powering your home. After sunset the battery supplies the load. Battery size decides how long it lasts, which is why we ask about your evening and overnight use.
Can solar run a fridge and freezer all day?
Yes. A fridge and freezer are among the easiest loads to run on solar because they cycle on and off. We still count their starting surge when choosing the inverter, so they do not trip it.
What if there is no electricity from the grid at all?
No problem. A hybrid inverter works with or without the grid. Where the grid exists it can act as a backup source, and where it does not the system runs from panels and batteries, with a generator input as an option for the cloudiest days.
How is a solar system protected from lightning and surges?
Good installations use proper earthing, surge protection on the DC and AC sides, correctly rated breakers and sensible cable routing. We include these as standard because they protect both your equipment and your property.
How soon can the system be installed?
Most home systems are installed within one to three days once the survey is done, the quote is accepted and the equipment is confirmed. Larger commercial projects take longer, and we give you a timeline up front.
Not sure which package fits?
Tell Big Dave what you want to run and we will recommend the smallest system that does the job.
